How to Identify Your Nexsan Product, Firmware Revision, or Serial Number
Beast\Boy Variants
The product type of a Beast or Boy variant can be determined by the first digit of the firmware revision:
Cxxx | SATABeast |
Gxxx | SATABeast1.5 / 4Gb |
Nxxx | SATABeast2 / SASBeast |
Pxxx | SATABeast2.5 / 8Gb |
Bxxx | SATABoy |
Hxxx | SATABoy2 / SASBoy |
Lxxx | SATABoy-SH |
Dxxx | SATABoySCSI |
The firmware revision and serial number (controller serial number) can be found within the web GUI (System Information --> System Info). Below is a screenshot (the serial number was removed from the screenshot). Note: For units with dual controllers, either controller serial number is acceptable.
DATABeast
The serial number of the DATABeast is physically located on front or back foot of the DATABeast rack. The software/firmware revision is displayed on management GUI login screen, see screenshot below.
Assureon
The build/firmware revision can be located at the bottom left corner of the web GUI, see screenshot below. The Assureon serial number is on a sticker that can be found on the storge devices (Beast/Boy) and on the top surface of the Assureon server units. Note: The server units will need to be slightly pulled out of the rack to view the sticker.
iSeries
The iSeries software/firmware revision and serial number can be located on the General tab of the properties window in the GUI, see screenshot below. Note: Scroll to the right to display the serial number. The product type is also listed on the "General" tab (400i or 200i).
